From Punta Sabbioni, ACTV motorboats (line no. 14) depart for Venice St. Mark’s, with an intermediate stop at Lido di Venezia (Venice’s beach, home to the Casino during the summer). From St. Mark’s Square, you can take water buses (vaporetti) in all directions (Grand Canal, San Giorgio and Giudecca, Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia Railway Station, Murano, etc.).
From Punta Sabbioni and Treporti, ACTV motorboats (line no. 12) depart for the islands: Burano, famous for its lace and colorful fishermen’s houses; Torcello, the first island inhabited by Venetians, featuring two ancient Byzantine-style churches; Murano, known worldwide for its exquisite glasswork; and Fondamente Nuove in Venice (an area near the Church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo).
